LATEST COVID-RELATED NEWS
Unfortunately due to Covid guidelines, I have been unable to run my courses since April, so once the restrictions are eased, the students already booked previously will have priority on re-booking. As it will also mean that my maximum capacity will be halved to be able to comply with social distancing, it will take me a while to get through the courses I need to reschedule.
Please join the waiting list if you would like to be informed as soon as courses are re-scheduled.
The main aim of this course is to have fun learning a new skill - it's a very relaxed and supportive environment and even the least 'arty' people find their inner creativity when they are given the time and encouragement to express themselves in glass! No prior skills or experience is necessary to take part.
Courses are scheduled throughout the year.
Improvers fusing days
For people with some prior experience, improver days are when you can push the boundaries by introducing some more skills to your repertoire. You may be thinking of buying your own kiln or just want to make some more intricate projects.
Seeing your glass ideas come to life in your own projects is so satisfying!
Specialist fusing skills
I can run tailor-made sessions for glass fusers who already have their own studio set up but want to learn some specific skills or use equipment they don't have at home. A popular example is pulling vitrigraph stringer using the specialist wall-mounted kiln.
These sessions are always by appointment and can be 1:1 or 1:2 depending on demand.

Learn the art of glass fusing at one my workshops.
I have over 13 years of glass fusing experience and a background in training, so teaching others this fabulous art form is a real pleasure for me.
I will explain the principles behind fusing glass in a kiln to create different effects and textures, showing you examples of what's possible and helping you to design your own fused glass items. I will demonstrate the correct use of all tools and equipment and make sure everyone knows how to handle the glass safely, before you embark on your creative adventure.
Each course is limited to just 4 students, to ensure maximum support and attention. You can expect to make at least 2 or 3 items and you will have access to a wide variety of materials. Students usually start off with something small and straight-forward like a coaster or a sun catcher, so that everyone can practice their basic skills. You then progress to bigger projects like dishes, self-standing totems and wall plaques or small panels for framing.
Perfect as a gift, or for spending quality time with friends or family, if you don't see a suitable date in the schedule, then just get in touch to discuss organising something that suits you better. Bookings made will be invoiced via email and joining instructions will be sent before the course starts.
What's included in the price?
All tools, firing, H&S equipment and materials are included. Glass is fired after the course and is available for collection within 2 weeks. If you require your items to be posted to you, then P&P is charged at cost and will be agreed before sent.
Hot and cold drinks as well as biscuits and fruit are provided all day, but students are asked to bring along a packed lunch. Any dairy alternatives, dietary or other allergies should be notified on booking. There is a resident cat and dog, so please let me know if these may cause an issue.

"I loved my day doing this course. Bev is a wonderful tutor; friendly and informative. I still love my creations that I came away with and considering the pieces you come away with, and the personal tutoring you get, I think it's well worth the money. A great day." Sally S - Rochester
"My mum and I had a wonderful day on the Beginner's course with Beverley. Both of us were brand new to glass fusing and what we were impressed by was how Beverley explained the science behind it in such a fun way. We were able to be very creative, both making three pieces each. We were incredibly impressed with the results and I'm looking forward to booking myself on an improver's course. It was a really enjoyable and artistic day and I'd recommend it to all." Claire H - Rochester
"What an amazing and fun day . Bev taught us so much on this day course . I came away inspired and proud of my achievements. I would recommend everyone give it a go!" Debbie M - Gravesend
"After commissioning Bev to make me one hundred glass jelly babies I decided to I wanted to have a go at glass fusing. I have since done two courses in Bev's studio and they are fantastic days out. She takes you through all the basics and explains the process of glass fusing in great detail. At the end of the course you have your own pieces of art to take home which is great! I highly recommend anyone to give this a go, Bev is a great teacher!!" Jade C - Gillingham
